Stage 7 Piano Academy

Kenn Wildes has been teaching piano technician knowledge since 1991. He has helped to create a few dozen careers in the field, ranging from Colorado to Kenya Africa and now the Seattle area.

The comprehensive level of skills taught has reached a very high level, currently.

We cover every thing from the typical list of technical skills: regulation – repair – tuning – voicing, to thorough case detailing and touch up skills, and also restoration skills including replacing action parts and strings.

Our understanding of regulation and voicing exceeds most levels seen among technicians, let alone what is taught by typical courses.

Our understanding of pianos overall is quite thorough, and one learns about pianos in way that is difficult to find in the industry.

Learning is hands on, with real pianos, and real life situations.

We have an endless supply of pianos to practice on, including tuning, which takes lots of time to learn well. We will give thorough guidance but lots of time is needed to practice and become expert.

We ask that someone work twice a week for 5 hours in our facility, for 2 years. This will be enough time to cover everything. Our benefit is to have a member of the team. Your benefit is paying with your time, and of course thorough learning.

Piano technician work is a very satisfying field. One meets people across the spectrum of society. One sees countless homes and organizations and musicians. One is independent. The learning never ends. The income can become quite impressive, well into 6 figures. There are many options of specialty to choose from in the field. Often the career is ones 3rd or 4th career, and quite often the last career, as people tend to enjoy it very much.

If interested, please send your resume and an explanation of your interest. We are only interested in committed people. We can only offer few positions.
