Our Story
Stage 7 Pianos is the culmination of 30 years of Kenn Wildes’ different experiences in the piano industry. It is specifically the “Seventh Stage” of his piano business.
The Complete Piano
His first business was called The Complete Piano, a workshop and tuning business in Boulder Colorado for 5 years, from 1986 to 1991.
Piano Kenya / Real Music
Kenn went to Nairobi, Kenya, Africa, in 1991 to run long distance with the great Kenyan runners, and also to work on pianos. From 1991 to 1993, Kenn created a thriving restoration workshop which exists to this day, at an existing music school, Real Music. He then created his own business, Piano Kenya, working with Patrick, a Kenyan colleague and friend, to whom he gifted his business when he left in 1996.
Wildes Pianos
In 1996, Kenn came to Seattle and worked alone for 6 years, specifically to focus on family.
Seattle Piano Gallery
In 2002 Kenn helped to create Seattle Piano Gallery with a business salesman friend, although Kenn was not the owner. It was a thriving store and restoration facility in downtown Seattle.
Northwest Pianos
In 2007 Kenn created his own company “Northwest Pianos” together with a business partner, which is currently a healthy and respectable piano business in Bellevue, WA. In 2010 Kenn decided to split with his partner and left the company.
Stage 7 Pianos
was first created as a solo endeavor in 2012. Stage 7 Pianos is located in a serene warehouse space shared with other businesses, near beautiful downtown Kirkland.
